1. TOPS: Wear it outside of your house twice = it is time to wash it! You have been exposed to two different environments, you smelled different on those two day I could keep going but just trust me on this one.... plain and simple WASH IT.
- Remember to turn all jeans inside out to conserve the color.
- take your clothes out right when that dryer buzzer goes off to get away without having to iron (so worth it).
- If you wash your clothes on cold, color doesn't matter, & you'll save time on drying cycles if you have all your lights in one, easier to dry load.
2. If it is a shirt (t-shirt,button downs, Polo's, sheer material with sleeves) and you wore it for 2 or more hours outdoors you most likely must was it. If you don't sweat AT ALL then you might be able to get away with this rule, but last time I checked most human beings do sweat, especially living in Miami.
- Any kind of clothing that hugs your armpits should be washed after a day of wear. You might think your not stinky but yes... ju are! ( remember to turn everything inside out aka just take it off over your head and that's it)
- Polo's are made of a thicker kind of cotton and they conserve a lot of smell. Perfume, Cologne, body odor.... you know all those fun smells... together. OK, that's what I thought.
3. JEANS: Jeans are a complicated subject and you really just have to use good judgment and think to yourself "do they look like something I would like to cuddle up to" if the answer is "ehhh yuck, no" then its time to wash. Put yourself in your couple or just the general public, would you like to be next to or with someone in those jeans or are they a bit smelly?
- For Females: Our jeans work a little different it all depends on the material.
- If they are STRETCH: you can usually wear them 3 times (unless you are getting really rowdy) and then they will be too stretched out and probably a bit smelly= time to wash.
- If you only wear them once and they can still be worn a couple of more times turn them inside out and throw them in the dryer for 20 minutes, they will be back to new ... and warm :)
- Normal non/stretch denim usually tend to get dirtier quicker, not to mention 'stretch out' quick! womp womp womp..... I usually wear them twice and toss them in the basket.
- For Males: You could all usually stick to the 3 day rule (unless you are a beast and get dirty all day). Jeans last a lot longer on men than on women. If you ever feel like they are loose or don't fit well toss em in the dryer for 20 minutes!
4. It might be a little weird to think about cleaning that thing that essentially cleans your clothes but what if I told you that if you did it would make everything work a LOT better! Washing you machine every few months can help get rid of excess dirt, soap gunk, and other things that may be invading you wardrobe! Want everything to dryer faster?.... cleaning your dryer can make it dry way more effectively (especially if you clean that moisture sensor) in a small amount of time, something your clothes & patience will thank you for! = less times you have to wash your clothes!
Lastly, a quick trick to remember whether you wore that already or not: once you wear it once hang it up with the hanger backwards! Now you know you only have one more wear!
- Super lazy and hating sorting laundry much less doing it? Make laundry a breeze and use TWO hampers (three if you are really picky like me... heehee.)
- First hamper for 'Lights'
- Second hamper for 'Colors'
- Third (optional) for towels & sheets
